LOUISE A. KELLEHER

Louise (LouAnn) focuses her practice on defending foreign corporations involved in litigation in the United States. She has developed a reputation for guiding foreign defendants through the U.S. judicial process, and she has a broad range of experience in protecting the interests of foreign corporations in everything from products and premises liability to civil terrorism actions. LouAnn also has vast experience in handling complex insurance coverage issues arising out of foreign manuscript policies and representing insurers in bad faith litigation.

New Hampshire Insurance Co., et al. – Represents New Hampshire Insurance Co. in breach of contract action pending in the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee regarding coverage issues on excess liability policies written and issued in London, England.

Jakarta Terrorist Bombing – Protected the interests of premises owners regarding the terrorist bombings at hotels in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2009.

Jeter v. Sun Young Hardware Corp. – Represented Chinese manufacturer in products liability litigation involving a table saw.

Claims for Defective Space Heaters – Represented insurer in coverage dispute arising out of Vendor’s Endorsement on policy written and issued in China.

Mumbai Terrorist Bombing – Advised premises owners regarding a 2008 terrorist bombing in Mumbai, India.

Guam Power Authority v. National Union – Represented National Union in insurance coverage arbitration respecting Time Element Pollution Endorsement on policy written and issued in Guam.

Mahler v. Zhehiang Wanda Expert Co. – Represented Chinese manufacturer in products liability litigation in United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Claims for Defective Batteries – Represented insurer regarding coverage issues arising out of Vendor’s Endorsement on policy written and issued in Singapore.

2008 Islamabad Bombing – Protected the interests of premises owner regarding the 2008 terrorist bombing in Islamabad, Pakistan.

2005 Amman Bombing – Protected the interests of premises owner regarding the 2005 terrorist bombing in Amman, Jordan.

Hovensa v. AIICO - Represented AIICO in bad faith litigation in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.

Hovensa Refinery Litigation – Represented interests of insurers regarding hundreds of claims made under OCIP issued for the Hovensa Refinery in St. Croix, Virgin Islands.

Colby v. Norwegian Cruise Lines – Represented Norwegian Cruise Lines in action to enforce forum selection clause in passenger ticket.

Dow Corning Breast Implant Litigation – Represented American International Underwriters in coverage litigation concerning misrepresentation and “expected and intended” language of policies.

Piper Alpha Oil Rig Disaster – Represented insurer on issues relating to P&I payments and property coverage arising out of rig explosion resulting in 176 deaths.

DuPont Plaza Hotel Fire Litigation – Represented insurer in Direct Action Jurisdiction in multidistrict litigation arising out of New Year’s Eve fire killing 98 people and injuring hundreds more.
