Gabriel’s experience in practicing law in Mexico brings a fresh outlook to the firm and compliments the firm’s practice of law in its various areas of specialty, including products liability, insurance coverage litigation, intellectual property, real estate law and foreign investment. He is licensed to practice in Mexico and his license to practice in New York is pending. He is an authorized Spanish-English/English-Spanish translator by the Supreme Justice Tribunal of the State of Jalisco, Mexico.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE:

Bondo v. Well Done Eliat – Assists in representing Israeli manufacturer of cleaning products in products liability action in New York.

NCS Power, Inc. v. Yoku Energy Technology Ltd. – Assists in representing Chinese battery manufacturer in defense of action arising out of products liability claims in federal court.

Don v. Tanaka – Assists in representing artist in claims arising out of injuries allegedly sustained by guest during performance art show.

Chrobak v. Hilton – Assisted in representing hotel entities in claim of assault by hotel guest in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Action was dismissed as to all hotel entities.

Smith & Nephew v. New Hampshire Insurance Co., et al. – Assists in representing New Hampshire Insurance Co. in breach of contract action pending in the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee arising regarding coverage issues on excess liability policies written and issued in London, England.

Energizer S.A. v. M/V YM Green – Assists in representing Chinese manufacturer in litigation arising out of explosion on vessel in Hong Kong.

Anti-Terrorism Financing Cases – Assists in monitoring U.S. Anti-Terrorism Act litigation against financial institutions in New York.

Mexican Soccer Federation – Assisted in drafting sponsorship and license agreements between the Mexican Soccer Federation and several trademarks such as Hugo Boss, Coca-Cola, AeroMexico, Sabritas, Comex, etc.

Drafted real estate purchase agreements, trusts, leases, bylaws, articles of incorporation, shareholders meeting minutes, real estate trusts, creation and constitution of condominium regimes purchase, and all other kinds of civil and commercial agreements.

Represented foreign corporations in administrative proceedings before the Ministry of Economy and the Foreign Investment Registry that were seeking to operate manufacturing and construction businesses in Mexico.

Assisted in real estate closings in several high-end condominiums of the Mexican Baja, such as Palmilla, Villas del Mar, Casa Dorada, etc. Assisted in the creation of foreign companies’ corporate structure in Mexico.

Involved in mediation and arbitration for breach of commercial agreements between salt water treating company and a real estate developing company hosted by the ICC.
